Former Commissioner, Community and Health Services, Regional Municipality of York
Adelina Urbanski has spent her career collaborating and partnering to build healthier, more resilient and inclusive communities. Having served municipal government for more than 25 years in various capacities and roles, she has received recognition and awards for a number of innovative projects such as the Comprehensive Housing Strategy and the Emergency Housing Project. As President of Housing York Inc., York Region’s housing company; she oversaw the operation of 2,000 units of social housing and provides leadership and support for the development of new housing developments. She also played a lead role in York Region’s Human Services Planning Board and Immigration Settlement Strategy. Ms. Urbanski has been a member of various provincial initiatives including the Provincial Municipal Fiscal and Service Delivery Review and the Social Assistance Review. She is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors and holds a Chartered Director designation. Ms. Urbanski holds a bachelor of public administration (honours) and a certificate in Municipal Administration from the University of Windsor.
