Dr. Suzanne Filion

Director - Strategic Initiatives, Hawkesbury & District General Hospital

Dr. Suzanne Filion is an experienced clinical psychologist and change leader with an ardent commitment to public service. She obtained her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Ottawa, and her PhD in Research and Intervention from the University of Montreal. Dr. Filion also holds a Mental Health Law Certificate from the Osgood Hall Law School at York University, and a Senior Leadership Certificate from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. As Director at the Hawkesbury & District General Hospital, Dr. Filion deployed over fifteen community programs in MHA in order to improve the lives of citizens in need of care. She continues her work in development as the Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives for the hospital. Dr. Filion has taught at the University of Ottawa and St-Paul’s University, and she is also the President and CEO of her own private practice, the Filion Psychology Professional Corporation, offering services to those suffering from mood and anxiety disorders - she specializes in complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dr. Filion received provincial and national recognition for her work in development, including a national prize for the creation and implementation of an innovative clinical program in diabetes, mental health and addictions. Dr. Filion is an avid outdoors enthusiast, enjoying trekking, hiking and biking.
