Former Deputy Chief, Toronto Police Services
Peter Sloly is a former Deputy Chief of Police with the Toronto Police Service who is now an Executive Director with Deloitte Canada working in the Cyber section of the Risk Advisory services where is leading two national practices for Deloitte Canada. The first is “Security & Justice” practice where he is utilizes evidenced based user-centered practices to modernize and optimize the police, courts, corrections, emergency responders, national security agencies and transportation hubs. The second is the “Convergence Security” practice which enables private and public sector organizations to be more safe, vigilant and resilient in the new normal of constantly changing and increasingly interrelated physical and cyber threats.
Mr. Sloly was a decorated veteran member of the Toronto Police Service who attained the rank of Deputy Chief of Police. He has wide and deep police experience which included participation in the following international policing programs: the FBI National Academy, the Pearls in Policing Program and the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Kosovo where he served for two tours of duty as a Command Staff Officer and the Canadian Contingent Commander.
Mr. Sloly has a Masters of Business Administration (Schulich School of Business - York University) and a Bachelor of Arts, Sociology (McMaster University). He has authored numerous articles and he was an Adjunct Professor at the University of Guelph-Humber.
