Executive Director, Parkdale Activity and Recreation Centre (PARC)
Victor Willis has worked for the past thirty years in a number of community and mental health agencies. Since 1999, he has served as the Executive Director of Parkdale Activity and Recreation Centre (PARC). PARC is a foundational community resource whose purpose is reflected in its mission: “A community where people rebuild their lives.” During his tenure as the Executive Director of PARC, he has lead significant growth at this organization including the development of an innovative new supportive housing facility called Edmond Place. At the same time, Mr. Willis has also led broad community engagement in South Parkdale helping to create the Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust, The Parkdale Community Economic Development initiative and identifying the challenges presented to people with mental health and addiction histories in the areas of housing, food and income security. In addition to being the Executive Director at PARC, Mr. Willis is a community leader who has held numerous senior volunteer positions. Currently, he is a Board member of the Daily Bread Food Bank where he chairs the Program Support Committee and sits on the Finance Committee, a founding board member and current chair of the Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust and is a Trustee of the Centre for Addictions & Mental Health where he sits on the Audit, Finance & Resource Committee as well as being the Vice Chair of the Clinical Quality Committee. Mr. Willis is familiar with mental health and addictions issues professionally and personally.
